| LOMBAERTS: MY FUTURE IS IN MY HANDSBelgian defender Nikolas Lombaerts is ready to resume trainings with Zenit main team after a year and a half injury lay-off.Sport Express correspondents talked to Zenit Belgian defender Nikolas Lombaerts during the club’s trainings in Austria. The defender has been unable to shake off his injury during a year and a half and in Austria he didn’t take part in friendly games. However he gradually returns to trainings with the main team.
"My psychological form is much better than a couple of weeks or months ago", admitted Lombaerts. "It’s really pleasant to do exercises and train with my partners again after I have been training alone for a long time".
"I will be very happy if coaches include in the first team roster and I hope it will happen as soon as possible".
"When I got injured for the first time I knew that I would miss the UEFA Cup, Super Cup and the Olympic Games, it was hard to endure it, but I was ready for it and I waited for a moment when I would be able to play football again. And suddenly I had to start rehabilitation process from the very beginning".
"Zenit has four central defenders including me, but I don’t say for sure that I will get a place in the lineup immediately. I hope that I will be able to compete with my teammates and I will do everything possible to play in Zenit. My future is in my hands".english.sport-express.ru
