Non sarà un eroe il nostro Viktor, ma giovedì è stato molto utile...come sempre!
FAIZULIN: I AM NOT A HEROViktor Faizulin doesn’t consider himself as the hero of UEFA Cup clash against Stuttgart.
Author of Zenit’s winning goal Viktor Faizulin shared his feelings on decisive game against Stuttgart in Germany. The Russian midfielder entered the match as a substitution on the 73rd minute and fired in the winning goal, which paved their way to the UEFA Cup Round of 16.
"I don’t consider myself as a hero", said Faizulin to Sport Express. "I am glad that I managed to score. I could have scored the second goal, but the bar saved Lemann from the goal".
"Teams played quick football, while we haven’t opened the Russian season yet. So in several episodes we lacked playing rhythm, but we can forget about it now".
"What is more important is that we always leave Germany in good mood. We beat Stuttgart twice and advanced further".
"I think it’s better to play against German team rather than with Russian or Ukrainian, because they seem to be more comfortable opponents".
"Our second goal decided the fate of the battle. When the score became 2-1 I had no doubts that we would advance to the next stage of the competition".
"It’s very good that two Russian clubs, which take part in Eurocups, won their fixtures and brought our country points in FIFA rankings".
"By the way I was very surprised with the score of Milan vs. Werder rivalry. Italian club has a star roster, but they suffered a loss. The same thing happened with Valencia. Now I suppose that Werder is one of the main favourites of UEFA Cup campaign".
